    A.The membership of the Advisory Committee shall consist of:1.Four representatives of public safety agencies within the state, including:a.an emergency manager, b.a member of a law enforcement agency, c.a member of a fire department, and d.a member of an emergency medical service as defined in section 38-1207;2.Two county officials or employees;3.Two municipal officials or employees;4.Two representatives of the telecommunications industry;5.Two managers of public safety answering points, one of whom is employed by a county sheriff and one of whom is not employed by a county sheriff;6.One representative of the Nebraska Association of County Officials;7.One representative of the League of Nebraska Municipalities;8.The State 911 Director, who shall serve as an ex officio member;9.The Chief Information Officer or his or her designee, who shall serve as an ex officio member.

Accomplishments
  • Since July 1, 2020:
    Since July 1, 2020, the 911 Service System Committee continues its role in advising the Commission on the implementation, coordination, operation, management, maintenance and funding of the 911 Service System. Specifically, a new Next Generation 911 funding model was developed, recommended, and adopted by the Commission in November of 2020. Additionally, the Committee established a training working group to develop minimum training standards for telecommunicators and in November of 2021 the Commission adopted the recommended training standards that became effective January 1. 2022. In 2023, those training standards were amended to include the requirement that Telecommunicator CPR also be a mandatory component of training. In 2024, the Committee established a working group to developed and recommended standards to allow for callers between 911 and the National Suicide Hotline (988) to transfer calls between the two entities. Those standards became effective in December 2024.
