Accomplishments
  • Since July 1, 2020:
    These accomplishments are provided by the Department of Health and Human Services and reflect its sole views. The Aging Advisory Committee participated in and approved the 20232027 State Plan on Aging, which was submitted to the Administration on Aging, and continues to review the plan's progress annually. In 2022, committee members promoted and participated in listening sessions conducted by the UNO Gerontology Department to assess current services and identify gaps and needs for the 20242027 State Plan and annual AAA area plans. The committee also participated in addressing needs identified in surveys and listening sessions, collaborated with aging network partners to advocate for Nebraskas first Ageism Awareness Proclamation, advised staff on special projects and grants to improve services for older adults, and promoted State Unit on Aging and AAA resources, information, and events to the local aging population in their respective areas.
