Since July 1, 2020:Annual review and input on the NAHTF QAP Annual Hunger and Homelessness Awareness ProclamationAnnual NAHTF and HSATF Awards - This award was created to showcase projects that are impacting communitiesindividuals. This encourages, stimulates and promotes diverse ways of looking at housing development to address housing needs. Projects are recognized at the NIFA Innovation Expo. Nebraska 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness - DED provided funding to write this plan in 2015 and the Commission oversees and reviews the progress of said plan. The State Continuum of Care Committee oversees this effort.Grant Applications and Awards - The Commission provides letters of support for grant initiatives which are either required by federal grant opportunities or increase leveraging of grant applications. The Commission was a necessary part of the Youth Homeless Demonstration Partnership Program Grant and the YESI Grant.Legislative Advocacy - The Policy and Issue Committee reviews legislative activity and advocates through letters to Senators, Appropriations Committees and providing public input at hearings on housing policies and legislative changes to support housing and homelessness. Education Awareness on the NAHTF and HSATF Flyer created to show the economic impact of dollars and jobs created with the Trust Funds.Community Tours - The commissioners meetings are held across the state followed by tours of NAHTF and HSATF Projects.
