Since July 1, 2020:Examination Development and Administration: The Board prepares and grades the Abstracter's examination twice annually, issuing Certificates of Registration to individuals who pass.Licensing and Certification: It issues Certificates of Authority to individuals and firms engaging in abstracting, ensuring compliance with the Abstracters Act.Continuing Education Oversight: The Board mandates that each abstracter completes three hours of professional development every two years, reviewing and approving seminars and continuing education programs to maintain high industry standards.Complaint Investigation: It reviews and investigates complaints against licensees, upholding ethical practices and protecting public interest.Regulatory Compliance: The Board enforces and administers laws in compliance with the Abstracters Act, safeguarding the welfare and property of Nebraska citizens by determining the proficiency and competency of abstracters.
