Accomplishments
  • Since July 1, 2016:
    The board has continued its role by advising the Nebraska Public Service Commission on issues related to the administration of the Nebraska Universal Service Fund. The board members promote awareness of the NUSF and its purpose among its various sectors. It also brings issues to the Commission so that the Commission can address them by making any needed changes to eligibility and funding. The board discusses issues and makes recommendations on the following: the appropriate level to be maintained for the Nebraska Universal Service Fund surcharge; the development of broadband deployment and adoption pilot programs; changes to the Lifeline program, changes to the E-rate program, and potential changes to the contribution mechanism.
