Accomplishments
  • Since July 1, 2016:
    Revisions to the Boards Rules and Regulations, Title 171 NAC went into effect on July 1, 2019. The revisions included elimination of duplicate language, defining when a seal is required on supervised work, the use of regulated titles on correspondence, and reorganization of the chapters for a more user friendly referencing.The Board is currently working on revisions to the Geologists Regulation Act to be introduced during the 2021 legislative session. These include mostly housekeeping changes with the most significant revision being made in Section 81-3539. The revisions in this section include reorganization to make it clearer as to the requirements for each step, reduction in experience requirement from five years to four, and removing the requirement that professional references must be from professional geologists.The Board launched a new more user friendly website in February 2018.
