Accomplishments
  • Since July 1, 2016:
The SBCAP and staff from the NDEQ (now NDEE) have held annual meetings to discuss various outreach and assistance activities the Department conducts for the regulated community in Nebraska. During these annual meetings, the Department provides presentations and discussions updating panel members on environmental regulations; particularly those that may affect smaller businesses. The SBCAP members discuss the Panels goals and objectives for the coming year, which is outlined in a required annual report to the Governor. Common goals include the following: Panel members act as liaisons with the small business community; when appropriate, provide input concerning any new or changing environmental regulations; gauge the regulated communitys satisfaction with the Departments assistance initiatives; provide outreach assistance to the Department by sponsoring or promoting meetings in panel member communities for NDEE staff presentations on various agency or regulatory topics. Members of the Panel have participated in NDEE outreach activities to highlight the SBCAP and the role the Panel can play in assisting the regulated community; continue to meet annually.
