Accomplishments
  • Since July 1, 2016:
The Board has designed a program to train barber instructors with the use of online training and live or video presentations. The Board has incorporated the use of mass emailing to inform licensees of information critical to the barber industry, such as Covid-19 and legislative bills. The agency has updated the web site to better assist licensees and the consumer with information at their finger tips. The Board has redesigned many of our licensing applications with user friendly instructions. The Board sets goals annually to aid in the growth of the barber industry. We have licensed two new barber school with an other one to open in August of 2020. This will aid in educating barber all across the state, with locations in Grand Island, Lincoln and soon in Omaha. The agency was recently audited by the State Auditor, which found only minor issues which were quickly addressed, to better reduce any potential risks.
