  • Purpose:
    The commission shall conduct an annual inspection of the Governors residence. A report on the inspection shall be submitted to the Governor within thirty days after the day of the inspection. The report shall include recommendations for major maintenance or repair projects, if needed. Implementation and priority of an approved major maintenance or repair project shall be determined by the Governor in cooperation with the Director of Administrative Services. Additionally, no changes, additions, deletions, or other alterations to the residence, including its exterior, interior, decorative objects, contents, or grounds shall be made without prior approval of the commission, except for the Governor's private living quarters located on the second floor of the residence.

    Other than one (1) member being a current member of the American Society of Interior Designers, and the positions as DAS Director, Task Force for Building Renewal Administrator, and NE State Historical Society Director, there are no other qualification requirements for the at large members.

    Expenses for travellodging and public notice of meetings.
  • Expense Reimbursement:
    Members serve without compensation, but can be reimbursed for expenses. Expense reimbursements were not requested for the past four years.

    Six at large members appointed for four year terms. Those designated by position for as long as they occupy that position.

Accomplishments
  • Since July 1, 2016:
    Since July 1, 2016 - Conducted 4 annual inspections of the residence; identified 189 items for corrective actions and reviewed all corrective actions taken; DAS State Building Division completed 1,145 separate work orders; reviewed several Residence deferred building renewal projects, including new air conditioning and garage roof replacement projects; and removed one (1) artistic bike sculpture (in disrepair) from the grounds.
