Membership includes equal representation from Higher Education, School Governance and Teachers, plus representatives from the Nebraska Department of Education and two at-large members selected by the State Board of Education.Organizations submitting nominations shall give consideration to balancing the representation with regard to geographic location and state board district, gender, ethnicity, grade level, academic subject area and school enrollment size.

Accomplishments
  • Since July 1, 2012:
    17.Since July 1, 2012: Review and input for revision of the following rules: 92 NAC 21 (Issuance of Certificates and Permits to Teach, Provide Special Services and Administer in Nebraska Schools); 92 NAC 24 and associated Guidelines (Certificate Endorsements); 92 NAC 20 and associated Guidelines (Educator Preparation Program Requirements); 92 NAC 23 (Basic Skills Competency). In addition to meeting participation, members serve on educator preparation program approval visits, endorsement revision meetings and statewide meetings related to educator preparationcertification. Accomplishments since July 1, 2012 include significant endorsement updates; enhancement and reform of educator preparationcertification processes; educator pipelinesupply strategy development; and updates to certification requirements.
