    Advise and make recommendations to the department in implementing the Stroke System of Care Act. The Task Force will advise the department on protocols for assessment, stabilization and appropriate routing of stroke patients by EMS as well as the communication and coordination between hospitals, comprehensive stroke centers, and primary stroke centers. The Task Force will also recommend essential health care services to be provided through telehealth for acute stroke care.

Accomplishments
  • Since July 1, 2012:
    The Statewide System of Care Stroke Task Force was established with LB 722 Approved on April 18, 2016. The department was to assume implementation October 1, 2016. As of June 2016, the department is in the process of building the Stroke Task Force by contacting the required partners.
