Explanation of Effectiveness:https://nebraskalegislature.gov/pdf/SurveyDocs/explanation1731530300.pdf
Potential HarmThe public would sustain harm if this license type were no longer available by decreasing the amount of credentialed LPNs available to provide care in Nebraska. This would decrease the ability of patients to obtain care in a timely manner, especially in areas where there are a limited number of providers. The temporary license allows individuals who have not practiced for the previous five years a way to obtain clinical practice time during a refresher (review) course to obtain reinstatement of a regular license. It allows recent graduates of nursing programs to work until passage of the licensing examination and obtaining a regular license.
