Potential Harm | Registered nurses provide more advanced medical and nursing care than licensed practical nurses. The public would sustain harm if temporary licenses were not available. These licenses allow for individuals to obtain updated clinical knowledge and experience in refresher (review) courses when they have been out of practice for five years. It also allows for individuals to obtain employment as nurses during the period between graduation and passage of the licensing examination. This aids not only the individual but also employers by increasing safe access to care by the public. |
