Qualifications Of Members:Four representatives of public safety agencies within the state, including an emergency manager, a member of a law enforcement agency, a member of a fire department, and a member of an emergency medical service as defined in section 38-1207; Two county officials or employees; Two municipal officials or employees; Two representatives of the telecommunications industry; Two managers of public safety answering points, one of whom is employed by a county sheriff and one of whom is not employed by a county sheriff; One representative of the Nebraska Association of County Officials; and One representative of the League of Nebraska Municipalities. The State 911 Director and the Chief Information Officer or designee serve as es officio members. Of the fourteen appointed members of the committee, at least four members shall be appointed from each of the three congressional districts.

Accomplishments

Since July 1, 2016:The 911 Service System Advisory Committee was formed after July 1, 2018. Since that time they have made recommendations and assisted the Commission with the development of technical requirements for a Statewide Emergency Services Internet Protocol Network and Next Generation 911 Core Services. The Committee has also made recommendations to the Commission on a new funding mechanism. They are in the process of developing training and technical standards.
