Qualifications Of Members:Members of the Nebraska Workforce Development Board shall represent diverse geographic areas of the State of Nebraska, including urban, rural, and suburban areas. As required under WIOA Section 101(b), the membership of the Nebraska Workforce Development Board must include the Governor, a member of the Nebraska legislature, and members appointed by the Governor. Of the members appointed by the Governor, a majority must be representatives of businesses, not less than 20 percent must be representatives of the workforce within the state, and the balance must be representatives of government. As such, 52 percent of the Governor-appointed members are representatives of business in Nebraska, 24 percent are representatives of workforce within the state, and 24 percent are representatives of government in Nebraska.

Accomplishments

Since July 1, 2016:Key accomplishments since July 1, 2016: assisting the Governor with development and implementation of the mandatory 2018 modification of the 2016-2020 Combined State Plan for Nebraskas Workforce System, as required under WIOA Section 101(d); hosting a statewide strategy workshop in October 2019 regarding development of the 2020-2024 Combined State Plan for Nebraskas Workforce System, in collaboration with the State Plan partners; assisting the Governor with development and implementation of the 2020-2024 Combined State Plan for Nebraskas Workforce System, in collaboration with the State Plan partners, as required under WIOA Sections 101(d); ongoing development and review of policies and guidance, as required under WIOA Section 101(d), including policies and guidance regarding regional planning, infrastructure funding, and memorandums of understanding among required American Job Center partners; and ongoing dissemination of Nebraskas Eligible Training Provider List, as described in WIOA Section 122
