When appropriate, cause referral to be made to those agencies as required in section 28-711 or as otherwise required by state law.

Other members may include a county attorney, a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent responsible for investigations on Native American reservations, a social worker, and members of organizations which represent hospitals or physicians.

Accomplishments

Since July 1, 2012:In 2013, the CDRT authorizing legislation was amended to include maternal deaths. A contract was executed in 2015 with the Nebraska Medical Association to review maternal deaths, beginning with deaths in 2014. Reports on child deaths were completed for 2009 (Sept., 2013) and 2010-2011 (Nov., 2015), incorporating reviews of a total of 690 child deaths. The CMDRT continues to sponsor the Douglas County and Northeast Nebraska Child and Infant Mortality Review Teams.
