Find Your Senator

The state is divided into 49 legislative districts, each home to approximately 35,000 citizens. To find the senator representing your district, read the instructions below based on whether you live in the Omaha/Lincoln areas or rural Nebraska and go to the Legislature section of the Unicameral Maps Clearinghouse to access the necessary maps.

Statewide Nebraska

Locate your area of the state on the Legislature's statewide district map. Determine which district covers your county.

If you live near a city or village, you can view a report entitled "Nebraska Cities, Villages, and Counties: Their Location Within the Legislative Districts Established by Laws 2001, LB 852" that includes a list of cities, villages and counties by legislative district. District numbers are identified next to each municipality.

Once you have identified the district that covers your area of the state, select the district number from the Individual Legislative District maps. These maps are in PDF format, and you can zoom in to see roads and street names, which will make it easier to locate your precise place of residence.

Lincoln and Omaha areas

If you live in the Lincoln or Omaha metropolitan areas, click on either of these cities to view a metropolitan district map.

Identify the general area of the city in which you live, and make note of those districts that correspond with your area of town. Visit the Legislature section of the Unicameral Maps Clearinghouse and select the appropriate district number(s) from the Individual Legislative District maps. These maps include street designations. You can use the zoom in on these district maps to identify major roads in the district and confirm that this district includes your place of residence.
